General Hospital Randwick, Sydney NSW, Died of Illness Cemetery or Memorial: Soldiers' Memorial Macarthur Park Camden Father: Albert Edward PRICE ( - 1943) Mother: Minnie Isadora BANKS (1871 - 1960) George's occupation was Farrier when he enlisted at Bundanoon in January 1916 and served in the 6th Australian Light Horse Regiment. Prior to enlistment he served 2 years and 6 months in the West Kent Yeomanry. The family arrived in Australia c.1912 and were living at Camden Park Menangle, later moving to Bundanoon and then back to Murray Street Camden. He departed Melbourne on the 'Boorara' 10th May 1917 and was Bandmaster for the Australian Military Band in the field. George became dangerously ill in Egypt with a Cerebral Tumour in March 1919 following an attack of Epilepsy in September 1918. He returned to Australia on the 'Wandilla' 15 May 1919. Corporal George Albert PRICE died at No 4 Aust. General Hospital Randwick, Sydney NSW on 9 June 1919 age 30 |
